This is an extremely rare car. In 1970 GM made only 241, 455 convertibles with automatic transmission. While I dont have the exact breakdown on convertibles; I myself know of 5 automatic convertibles, but only 2 of them with matching numbers. Considering this ultra-rare color combination combined with the 455 H.O. Ram Air and automatic on the column, this is probably the only one of its kind. This car was produced in

1967 GTO convertible go kart, gas powered by Briggs and Stratton, brand new in the crate and plastic with all papers, original bill of sale, never touched all these years. I found it in a garage. It was originally a promotion item for Belk Department Stores. There were less than a hundred made and less than 5% were red. The rest were black. Ours is red. We even have the original advertisements and promo literature. | |

The car is from Texas and was born in Arlington and is a rust free car. It also has tilt, Ram Air III and listen to this; the VIN number ends in 58 and that is the paint code for this car. This is interesting because the production numbers at the end of the vin number are 110058. Any time there are two zeros before the last two digits, means that it was one of the first cars produced that year and its just quirky that the last two digits before the two zeros are the same as the paint code. There were only a handful of 1970 Ram Air III non-Judge convertibles made. There were 288 Ram Air III convertibles made which include the Judges. Out of those, 168 were Judges, so you can see how rare a non-Judge 1970 convertible Ram Air III actually is. Out of this total, approximately half or less were stick shift. We think it is very unlikely that there were very many 4 speed cars with factory air conditioning. That makes this car extraordinarily rare. To top this off, this car was ordered in triple gold; Grenada Gold paint, gold convertible top and saddle interior. It is safe to say that this was the only 1970 Ram Air III, 4 speed air convertible made in this color combination. This beautiful gold with saddle interior car is completely PHS documented.
